…actually there is. If you want to be considered a true outside sales professional, you need to kill the notion that your home or home office is some sort of safe haven. Your company isn’t growing when you’re sitting behind the desk analyzing data or thinking about selling.

Checking this item off of your “holding me back from success” list requires having a very specific gameplan for how you’ll spend your time each day. All your time. Not just a list of appointments.

Youngmoney.com has an article with a short list of pros and cons on working from your home. One to really think about:

“It takes a phenomenal amount of self-discipline to start work when you know you don’t have to be at the office by 8 a.m.”

You’ve got to have this nailed. You can’t lose face-time with customers and prospects. Set a time at which you leave every workday, unless there’s an extraordinarily good reason to be there. And stick to it!
