For months now, our reviews of sales contact management systems have been very popular. So far, we’ve reviewed more than 12 sales contact managers – and we have a lot more on our to do list.

sales contact management toolsAs our review page grew and grew, we received feedback from many of you that the overview had started to become a bit unwieldy. Some asked whether it would be possible to list some of the more common features of sales contact managers in a side-by-side overview.

That’s why I am happy to announce an extension of our popular sales contact manager overview. In addition to our text based page, we now offer an easy way to view the tools side-by-side in an online spreadsheet. We hope you find it useful and easy to navigate.

At this point in time, we have 6 contact managers listed with many more added in the next few days and weeks. Subscribe to our automated updates or check back often.

A few notes before you jump in.

First, we created a list of almost 40 features and benchmarked each of the previously reviewed tools against it. Some of these tools are very different from each other – and use different terms for similar functions.

Take for instance the ability to create “groups of contacts” – you’ll find that one contact manager accomplishes it with so-called SuperTags, another calls them Cases and a third does adhere to the term “Groups”. At the end of the day, what mattered to us was whether you could accomplish the task of creating logical groups out of your thousands of contracts.

Second – some of the programs we reviewed offer different subscription levels. When we verified a feature, we checked whether it was offered in any of the plans. What it may mean is that one tool offers the feature in a free plan – whereas with others you’ll have to become a paying member. So while this table is a good starting point, you’re going to verify which contact manager meets your needs best.

Last but not least – this is a work in progress. Features are added often and while we try to be as complete as possible, we cannot guarantee that always get it right. You can help by notifying us if we missed something. It’s much appreciated and it will help us keep our overview current.

The bottom of the table displays a link to a “definitions” tab. This will provide a brief description and clarification of the features we reviewed.

So go ahead and explore. The table will open by clicking the image on the sales contact management overview page.

Let us know what you thinkĀ  – or, if you think we missed something, please let us know!

This is great. After looking into your list, I realized how many different companies offer online CRM solution and how different they can be.
