Books by Ron Willingham such as The Inner Game of Selling, Integrity Service and Integrity Selling for the 21st Century: How to Sell the Way People Want to Buy influenced me greatly.

Just read "How to Sell" by Jo Owen, which I found a really good read and not too heavy. Also brought myself a copy of "How to win friends and influence people" on the advice of a chap I met at a sales training course in London. Really looking forward to the read as it has such high reviews.

Strongly agree with SPIN Selling by Rackham. Important to understand the types of questions you are asking. Brian Tracey offers a great intro to selling. When I got into high-end, solution selling I found Miller-Heiman's Strategic Selling and Conceptual Selling to be invaluable resources.

Naples, I agree, nothing is more powerful than delivering a selling message with conviction and you can only do that when you're being honest. It really is that simple. People sense when you're not being honest and furthermore we are hard wired to feel uncomfortable about being dishonest which whether someone likes it or not is picked up on by the customer.

For my money, it gets no better than BIRTH OF A SALESMAN by Carson V. Heady.

Not only is it a can't-miss, spot-on how-to-sell book better than anything I have ever read, it is a book-within-a-story about the heroic, but flawed, fictional author. A MUST.

Amen!
Don't accept ,"I'll think it over" for a response. Give prospects and clients permission to say no with an "up-front contract."

Action Selling is a short sales book that will take about 90 minutes to read. You won't want to put it down. It's written in story format about a sales manager and rep discussing a new sales process they're using and how it has transformed their careers. The book tells you how and when to use the five key skills that matter most in sales and features a selling process that mirrors how customers make decisions. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to take their sales career up a notch.

One of the best sales books I read was Sandler's You Can't Teach a Kid to Ride a Bike at a Seminar. I always enjoy seeing top books on Sales and seeing what other individuals recommend.
