A Sales Gadget of the Future – But You Gotta Be Patient

Sometimes it’s fun to look a few years ahead.

It makes you wonder what we’ll have strapped to our belts or stuffed in our suit pockets a few years from now.

What will our phone look like? What do we use to project our sales presentations on large screens without having to carry that bulky projector around? Will we still carry business cards or product brochures around or will we customize and print them on demand while waiting in the lobby for our customer?

Here’s an pique at the future – the Ply concept phone takes a large step towards being able to take our office with us.

Here’s what Global Trend Research firm CScout Japan says about the Ply:

Ply’s name is taken from the design of multilayered plywood, and each layer has its own very distinct function, ranging from a photo printer to game controller to mini digital projector. This is of course a concept only, but in this day and age does it seem out of reach?

A phone, projector, printer and a game controller – no larger than your current phone. If you want this baby on your belt, you’re going to have to be patient.

But it sure gives you an idea of the direction that mobile devices are going.
